Joe Walker is a writer formerly of Nintendo Life, Push Square, Pure Xbox and Bits n’ Bytes Gaming. He has also been published on Retroware TV, GamesBeat and in the Sacramento Bee.
My name is Joe. I was born in Sacramento, California in the 1980s and fell in love with video games shortly after. I discovered a magazine called Electronic Gaming Monthly in 1994, decided writing about video games was what I wanted to do when I grew up, and took lots of writing classes in school.
Fast forward a bunch of years and I met a group of friends on an Animal Crossing message board that I liked a lot and spent most of my free time talking with. One of them was a girl. A few years later the girl and I decide we like each other, I get on a plane to Boston, some other stuff happens, and now we’re married and have a beautiful baby girl.
I never made it as a games writer (or a games YouTuber) but I never lost my desire to create things. This blog is just a way for me to get back to writing, my original creative passion, in the little free time I have as a dad.
That’s the quick version! In addition to my family and video games I’m also a really big fan of The Simpsons, soda, wearing shorts, cartoons, the Boston Celtics, takoyaki, being nice to people and dinosaurs.
